Can mold make you sick?

Damp, moldy buildings are associated with irritation of the nose, throat, and eyes, and with worse asthma symptoms for some people. Not everyone reacts, and a damp house contains more than mold — dust mites and general damp dust among them. A spore count is not a diagnosis.

If you feel worse at home and better away, inspect the building. If you have trouble breathing, get medical care first. We will not tell you a closet caused a specific disease, and we will not tell you to ignore a wet wall.
