Is mold in the bathroom normal?

A little mildew on grout happens in steamy rooms and can be cleaned. It is not a personality trait of Gettysburg water. Soft drywall around a shower, a fan that does not exhaust outdoors, or a ceiling stain under a bathroom is a leak or a ventilation failure, not 'normal mold.'

Run a real exhaust fan. Recaulk when the joint is open. If the ceiling below is stained, do not paint it until the pan or the supply line is fixed.
